Project Description

Seattle, Washington

Rushing partnered with General Investment Development Co. (GID) and Weber Thompson Architects on this 41-story, 355 unit apartment complex located in Seattle’s Denny Triangle. In addition to the 36 floors of residential apartments, the building offers 19 leasable work spaces and ground floor retail. The building was completed in late 2015.

Rushing’s electrical team provided full electrical and lighting designs for all aspects of the project, including units, amenities, and back-of-house spaces. A chilled water fan coil and electric heat mechanical system developed from Rushing’s design build criteria keeps the building comfortable. Rushing also supported designs for several unique features of the building including a car wash and roof-level resident lounge, fitness center, and terrace. The Rushing lighting design studio achieved an Illuminating Engineering Society Award of Merit for the project.

The project achieved LEED Silver certification under the expertise of Rushing’s Sustainability Studio. Like many new projects recognizing the importance of green building in Seattle, Cirrus features high-efficiency appliances and LED lighting, but it stands out for its community connectedness and commitment to practicing sustainability through ongoing, future-focused building education and operations and maintenance. Highlights of the project include:
•        31% potable water use reduction
•        28% energy cost savings
•        RideShare program
