Plans for a new, 18-story, 230,551-square-foot residential tower on the corner of Western Ave and Cedar Street continue to develop. Rushing’s full suite of integrative services are behind the project, including mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering, lighting design, energy and commissioning services and sustainability consulting for the Living Building Pilot project.

Participating in Seattle’s Living Building Pilot Program affords the site design concessions for incorporating certain sustainable design features. The project is pursuing the petal certification performance framework development by the International Living Future Institute, including the energy and beauty petals. An example of the site’s incorporation of beauty, a seven-story terrace will be curated for children’s play.
