A new five-story parking garage will open in Bellevue this September, two years ahead of light rail service at the future Sound Transit South Bellevue Station. Rushing is providing mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering as well as lighting design and energy services for the garage, as part the East Link expansion connecting Bellevue and Seattle.
The garage includes 1,500 parking spaces and will be part of the East Link South Bellevue Station. While light rail service will not begin until 2023, the garage opening will provide parking to bus riders who have used alternative parking since 2017 when construction began on the East Link project.
Sound Transit East Link project is one of several transit projects connecting the Puget Sound region. Rushing is also a team member of the E360 and Downtown Redmond Link extensions, connecting Bellevue and Redmond, as well as the Sound Transit Lynnwood Link and Sound Transit Puyallup Garage projects.
