Rushing projects earned seven 2020 Gold Nugget Awards at the virtual awards presentation on July 24, including six Awards of Merit and one Grand Award, chosen among Award of Merit honorees.
NEXUS received a Grand Award for Best Multi-Family Housing Community. Rushing provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering for the 41-story condominium tower, as well as lighting design, sustainability consulting and energy services.
Six other Rushing projects earned Awards of Merit including: Cypress, a mid-rise residential project in Yesler Terrace, for Best Mixed-Use Project; 1200 45th Street, a 22-story apartment building in development, for Best On-the-Boards Mixed-Use Project; An Lac, a recently opened mid-rise affordable housing project in Little Saigon, for Best Affordable Housing Community; Station House, part of a mixed-income, transit-oriented residential complex in Capitol Hill, for Best Affordable Housing Community; Ascent, a South Lake Union high-rise apartment, for Best Multi-Family Housing Community; and Waverly, a 28-story multi-family project in development, for Best On-the-Boards Multifamily Community.
The annual awards competition, running for 57 years, honors design and planning achievements in community and home design, green-built housing, site planning, commercial, retail, mixed-use development and specialty housing categories. Winners this year were chosen from 575 entries from around the world.
