The historic Eitel Building on Second and Pike, first built in 1904 to house medical offices, has reopened as The State Hotel. The hotel has 91 rooms and eight stories—the first seven were restored and an eighth was added for penthouse suites, a deck and rooftop bar for hotel guests. The building also includes a ground floor restaurant named after Seattle businessman Ben Paris who opened a restaurant in the building in the 1930s. The original archway, brick façade and five-story Shephard Fairey mural were preserved in the restoration.
