Olive 8
Olive 8 is a 38-story, 550,000 square foot mixed-use building that includes luxury condominiums, a Hyatt hotel, a restaurant, and a spa. The Sustainability Studio guided the project team to achievement of LEED-NC Silver Certification, making Olive 8 the first LEED certified hotel/condominium in Seattle. The building fully encapsulates sustainable design with a holistic green building education program, sustainable operations throughout, and one of the largest green roofs in the city. At 8,355 SF, the roof mitigates stormwater, provides a habitat for Seattle’s birds and bees, and helps to lower downtown temperatures in the summer. Inspired by its success, the restaurant owners have also started to grow herbs on the roof.
