Rushing was the Mechanical Engineer for this new 13,000 square foot public library for King County. Rushing designed the building to be solely conditioned by ground source heat pumps conditioning the space using 24 vertically bored underground wells. Operable windows are enabled during optimal natural ventilation conditions, with radiant floor heating to supplement winter conditions. Rushing also designed rainwater collection and performed storage and gray water use calculations for the sizing of a rain water cistern.
