Rushing was the MEP Engineer of Record for the relocation of this tenant in South Lake Union. Construction cost equaled $12.5 million and was completed in April 2011. Renovation involved three levels of the 4 story building, with multiple wet and dry laboratories, a vivarium, new office space, and common areas.

A 3,000 SF data center stores approximately one petabyte of scientific data, which ISB has stated is more than four times as much as the Library of Congress. The facility also has a 2,000 SF state-of-the-art mass spectrometry facility, one of the largest in Seattle. Mechanical systems include chilled and hot water air handling units serving constant volume, VAV boxes with hot water heating coils.

The project was awarded LEED Platinum CI certification.

Rushing provided mechanical and electrical full design documents for renovations, upgrades, and tenant improvements to 133,000 SF of existing building space located on floors 1-4 and the rooftop. Rushing was responsible for  providing early MEP budgets that set the project parameters for subcontractor selections. Areas include administrative offices, laboratories, and testing.
