Senior lighting designer
Annie’s career has led her down a winding path to her current role as a lighting designer at Rushing. She has blazed her own path on her way to becoming a licensed lighting designer: after attending an Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) meeting during university, she left feeling a new part of her brain switch on. She has at various times in her career worked in technical lighting design, lighting product sales, energy retrofits and utility incentive procurement. She has a breadth of experience and passion for design that benefits her clients and projects.
Annie loves the often-challenging balancing act that thoughtful lighting design requires between satisfying the client’s desires and budget, restrictive energy codes and creative aesthetically beautiful spaces that enhance both architecture and user experiences. She especially enjoys guiding clients through the process and working on projects with unique technical and regulation challenges.
She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and fine arts from McGill University, and an associate degree in interior design from Dakota County Technical College. When not producing amazing lighting designs, Annie loves spending time exploring the PNW with her young daughter. She also tries to squeeze reading, cooking/baking and practicing yoga into her busy days.
