Opportunity Center, the first site in a new four-building complex located in Seattle’s Othello neighborhood, went through a second review by Seattle’s Southeast Design Review Board in July. Rushing is providing mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering for the seven-story mixed-use building as well as energy services.
According to design plans, “Othello Square co-locates vital amenities like affordable retail space, a preschool, an elementary school, multigenerational services, a health clinic, and cooperatively owned and affordable housing on one 3.2-acre campus.”
Adjacent to the Othello light rail station, Opportunity Center will anchor the Othello Square project on the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South and South Othello Street and will include 213 residential units serving families earning 60 to 120 percent of the area median income.
