Ian is an experienced Energy Engineer focused on maintaining a habitable planet for future generations as part of Rushing’s Energy Studio. Ian blends technical expertise with a passion for sustainability to establish project goals and steer designs as efficiently and cost-effective as possible. Ian brings experience in new building design and audits and retro-commissioning of existing buildings to understand the complete picture of a building’s life cycle, from construction through operation to retirement. He applies these lessons to make optimal design choices for the life of a building, given the technologies and best practices available today.

Ian is a licensed professional engineer in California and holds LEED associate professional, building energy modeling professional, and certified energy manager credentials. Ian has a Master’s degree in Green Technologies and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California.

Outside the office, you can find Ian snowboarding, on the soccer pitch, or playing the latest board game to hit the shelves.
