Energy Analyst
LEED AP BD+C
Aaron strives to find the solutions between energy efficiency and real-world applicability, driven by a process-oriented approach. His role as an energy analyst at Rushing requires an integrative and collaborative process involving architects; mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers; lighting designers; sustainability consultant; and commissioning agents, which suits him well as a self-proclaimed “super extrovert.” With a background in chemical engineering and manufacturing, Aaron now enjoys applying his technical eye to the heavily involved aspects of building energy modeling and participating in the collective development of local and state energy codes.
On any given weekend, he can be found in Seattle’s beauteous landscape, fervently trying to convince his friends that backpacking is superior to car camping. Aaron is a sports junkie, wasting a good chunk of his brain on MLB and NBA stats. He once surprised himself by running a half-marathon and quickly vowed, “Never again.” His deepest fear is improperly recycling and composting; Aaron religiously follows Seattle Public Utilities newsletters and demands all his friends utilize the almighty Where Does It Go? Tool to help guide his endless journey toward a more sustainable lifestyle.
