Just north of the Northgate light rail station Gaard Development, Barrientos Ryan, and Third Place Design Cooperative are planning a seven-story workforce housing project at 11057 Eighth Ave. N. The project will include 89 units, a childcare center, and units will run from studios to two-bedrooms, with rents affordable in a range 50% to 100% of area median income.

The first round of design review was a little over a year ago, and the second-round review was held virtually on Jan. 10.

The project is east of the Northaven Senior Living campus and is planned to be part of the community there.  The intention is that the childcare center will be run by YMCA and will help connect those kids to seniors – and vice versa.

Rushing is honored to work alongside Gaard Development, Barrientos Ryan, as well as Coughlin Porter Lundeen, and will be providing MEP design, along with energy and lighting design services.
