Human Resources Manager: Lindsay Decker

Lindsay Decker is the Human Resources Manager at Rushing. She has been with Rushing since 2021 and is a licensed Professional in Human Resources.

Tell us about how you got into Human Resources.

I started my path in HR while working various contract jobs for multiple WA State tribal enterprises within their business development while mentoring tribal members on leadership and career skills.

What inspires you to do the work you do?

Watching the relationships I have formed flourish while also leading to my own growth.

What is it that you enjoy most about your work?

Forming those connections and seeing employees develop from our talks and chats has always been my favorite part, but HR is such a grab-bag of different responsibilities; there is always something new to learn.

What advice would you give others wanting to enter the HR field?

Be open-minded, be fluid, be authentic.

What are you most excited about for your new role?

I am excited to help Rushing, and our employees grow. We have a lot of big plans on the horizon, and I can’t wait to see them come to fruition.

What is something that you’re proud of? Personal and/or professional.

Being a mom. I have a 6-year-old son who means the world to me. His humor and wit amaze me every day.

Who are you outside of your career?

A bookworm, history, and cool art junkie with a love for adventure who also has an aptitude for couch lounging with the family.

What is something that many people don’t know about you?

In my former life, I wanted to be a professional volleyball player with dreams of making it to the Olympics. I played league ball until an unfortunate injury left me unable to continue.
