Rushing was built from the ground up. Through dedication, strength, and putting humans first, a particular rush comes with putting together all of the pieces. We create, problem-solve, analyze, and eventually bring it all to life. We want to show people the Rushing difference in a way that makes an impact where people and the planet flourish.

East Union (2220 E Union)

This six-story residential midrise includes a landscaped roof terrace, street-level commercial space, and two controlled-access parking areas. Situated in the Central District the building offers 144 one- and two-bedroom units. Rushing provided HVAC, plumbing, and electrical engineering services as well as full interior and exterior lighting design for the East Union apartments.  

Elara at the Market (2134 Western)

Elara at the Market is a 145-unit mixed-use apartment building situated in downtown Seattle. With studio to two-bedroom penthouse units, Elara also includes a rooftop deck, dog spa and lounge among its amenities.  The Rushing Sustainability Studio guided sustainability initiatives for the project from design through construction, reviewing submittals and design drawings to monitor compliance…

Eleanor (68th and 8th)

Eleanor is a 7-story multifamily building in Seattle’s Roosevelt neighborhood. With 260 units, the site’s two distinct building surround a welcoming, green courtyard. Eleanor earned LEED for Homes Gold certification and is just around the corner from a future light rail station.

Ernestine Anderson Place

This five-story apartment building located in Seattle’s Central District offers low-income housing for seniors over age 55. With 60 studio and one-bedroom apartments the site is named after Ernestine Anderson, jazz singer from Seattle and graduate of Garfield High School. Esterra Park (Block 8)

This 30-acre complex includes more than 2,600 apartments across six buildings, each with a range of amenities; the 285-room Westin Hotel for both short and extended stays; and approximately 247,000 square feet of high-tech office space. Fairview Research Center

Rushing provided mechanical engineering services for this warm shell and core 6-story, 94,000 SF laboratory/ office/ research building to house biotech R&D tenants.  The project’s design included infrastructure for a 10,000 SF vivarium, fume exhaust systems, 100% outside air supply and exhaust, as well as office HVAC systems. First Hill Streetcar

Rushing was the MEP engineer of record and sustainability/LEED consultant for the First Hill Streetcar Maintenance Facility, providing Integrated Design Facilitation; Sustainability and LEED Consulting; Natural Ventilation Analysis; and Energy Modeling for LEED and Seattle Energy Code RS-29 compliance. Helios (2nd and Pine)

This 40-story residential tower includes 398 luxury apartments position atop a podium of 3,000 square feet of retail space. Helios also features a rooftop deck, electric vehicle charging stations, low energy appliances, bicycle parking, and a five-story 217-stall underground parking garage. The project received LEED Gold certification May 2018.  

Institute for Systems Biology

Rushing was the MEP Engineer of Record for the relocation of this tenant in South Lake Union. Construction cost equaled $12.5 million and was completed in April 2011. Rushing provided tenant improvement renovations to the historic downtown Amtrak train station. Included were HVAC and plumbing design, electrical, lighting, life safety systems and telecommunications cabling infrastructure design for 12,000 square feet of mezzanine. Marlowe (SLU Fairview)

Marlowe is a South Lake Union mid-rise residential building situated in the South Lake Union neighborhood of downtown Seattle. The seven-story apartment building includes studio, one- and two-bedroom units as well as a rooftop deck, co-working space and other common areas. Newcastle Library

Rushing was the Mechanical Engineer for this new 13,000 square foot public library for King County. Nexus (1200 Howell)

The NEXUS condominium tower, located in Seattle’s fastest-growing neighborhood, the Denny Triangle, opened in 2019. This location places the tower within steps of the planned Washington State Convention Center expansion as well as numerous major transportation corridors.
