The new Estelita’s Library is now open, and already catching the attention of its Central District neighbors.  The project was designed and built by local high school students through non-profit Sawhorse Revolution, an organization that pairs students with professional architects and carpenters.

The library founded in 2018 by Edwin Lindo was the first recipient of the Tiny Cultural Space Program.  This justice-focused library provides free access to over 1,500 books with featured works by Malcolm X, Audre Lorde, and Howard Zinn, as well as Lindo’s personal collection of Black Panther newspapers.
