Plans for a South Lake Union residential complex, initially devised more than five years ago, have been revived and updated by developer Vulcan. Rushing is providing mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering services as well as lighting design and energy services for the site, also known as Block 56 North and Block 56 South.
The new design by Ankrom Moisan includes two residential buildings: one at eight stories with two levels of below-grade parking and a second 28-story tower with three levels of below-grade parking. Together the current plan, which is still in review, includes nearly 500 residential units, a portion of which will be reserved for affordable housing, and is targeting LEED certification.
