Design plans for a new, eight-story office building at 570 Mercer continue to evolve in advance of an upcoming West Design Review Board meeting on November 18, 2020. Rushing is providing mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering as well as energy services, lighting design and sustainability consulting for the site.

The latest plans include balconies and rooftop amenities not part of the initial plan, and the site plans no longer features a new pedestrian connection to Mercer initially included.

570 Mercer is participating in Seattle’s Living Building Pilot Program which allows certain design concessions for projects incorporating certain sustainable design features. The project is pursuing the materials petal, as part of the petal certification performance framework development by the International Living Future Institute.

The existing building is set to be leveled to make way for the 167,000 square foot office project, which is planned to include parking for 65 vehicles and 70 bikes.
